Weak Ultrasonic Humidifier (works), but very little steam?

I have a used (that is out of warranty) Holmes humidifiers one of the Cool Mist Ultrasonic models. A few weeks ago I happened to run dry, and since then hardly produces no fumes. Points to mention: – The Fan is OK. – The transducer (metal plate that vibrates to produce the steam) is definitely running, but it is simply too weak. I see the water "jump" when I raise the reservoir from the base, but the steam so little it is hardly visible. Before this happened, I could see a lot of vapors even at this setting. – I cleaned all the Scala from the transducer and water level sensor with vinegar and a soft toothbrush, but it did not help. Fix?

The fact that it dried up has ruined it! These sensors are designed to rely on continuous water contact so as not to overheat and die a sudden death. What is working you suspect, only the transformer try to capture the damaged converter. The ill converters react, but only as a sign of it, the former efficientcy. It's like a good car running on flat tires.
